As 2023 comes to a close, the team and I are proud of the many accomplishments and
the progress made for the Grand Forks Children’s Museum. It’s been a year of great progress…
A year of community support, engagement, and commitment,
A year where we have tapped the talents of local creativity to bring new adventures and opportunities to Full STEAM Ahead and to our participation in local community events,
A year of strong financial support from both state and local governments,
A year of successful fundraisers by dedicated individuals, and of
A year of private donations totaling $6 million,
A year where building contractors were chosen and building plans are now moving to schematics with a goal to break ground in 2025,
A year of growth of the board – adding much needed expertise in critical areas to address our growing needs,
A year where new, permanent employees were hired for the museum,
A year of collaboration with area expertise as well as children’s museums around the country,
And a year of making meaningful connections.
The board and staff put together our first Grand Forks Children’s Museum newsletter…click here to read.
On behalf of the board, staff, and volunteers, we are immensely proud of the efforts of everyone involved in this project. Personally, I have met so many wonderful people who have selflessly donated their time, talents, resources, and money to help make this dream become a reality. Community spirit is alive in Grand Forks, and I am so proud and grateful.
Admittedly, we have a way to go on our fundraising, yet 2023 is a year to be proud of
what has been accomplished. Of the $45 million target, we still have $19 million to go. 2024 will be a critical year both conceptually and for fundraising…however, given the level of dedication by all involved, we are sure 2024 will help us achieve our goals.
Need -> Concept -> Fundraising -> Reality …we are well on the way. Thank you!
